Meet Louise Aitken

Lady Sliders was created with one simple goal: to help women enjoy their surfing more.

Founded by New Zealand surfboard shaper Louise Aitken, Lady Sliders is built by a woman, for women. After more than a decade of shaping, glassing, designing and surfing, Louise understands that the right board can completely change a surfer's confidence, progression and enjoyment in the water.

Her journey began on Australia's Gold Coast, working alongside some of the industry's most respected shapers and glassers, before returning home to New Zealand to continue refining her craft. Over the years, she's shaped hundreds of boards and developed designs specifically suited to how women surf.

As one of the few female surfboard shapers in the world, Louise recognised something many women experience: being recommended boards that weren't truly designed with them in mind. While every surfer is unique, subtle adjustments to volume, dimensions and design can make a huge difference to paddling, wave count, confidence and progression.

That's why every Lady Sliders board is designed with the individual surfer at the centre of the process.
